National Tempura Day is a day to celebrate the Japanese dish of tempura. The history behind this dish can be traced back to ancient Japan, where it was originally used as a light meal for people who were fasting or had just finished eating a full-course traditional Japanese dinner.

When the Portuguese missionaries settled in Nagasaki around the mid-16th century, they introduced this dish to Japanese people.

This frying delicacy had been an extremely popular food until the 18th century when it began losing popularity due to new ingredients that were being used by hotels at the time which caused changes with how tempura batter was made as well so now there are different versions of them depending upon what you change out for instance if someone replaces oil or eggs then their fried meal will taste completely different from another person using soy sauce instead of salt or using vinegar instead of lemon.

The Japanese have a special word to describe the delicious and creamy texture of their favorite food, “yummy.” The day is for celebrating this delicacy called tempura. It can be made from either vegetables or seafood but there are many other variants as well such as shrimp tempura steak with sweet soy sauce dipping sauce which contains garlic chips in it among other things!

This dish usually comes out when you see fried battered pieces being cooked over hot oil before they’re topped off by an egg sliver then dipped into some combination oil/sauce mixture that’s been floating around forever -onomatopoeia at its finest folks…
